Janie’s Cape Eleuthera Wahoo!!!!

Monday, December 21st, 2009

The day started out like any other aboard the “Dolphinator”  said Capt. Leon Gibson.  However this day was going to end with a twist! And in more ways then one.  Janie and her husband decided to mix a little fishing with their spectacular diving. By day’s end Janie would be reeling in the largest Wahoo Capt. Leon had ever caught at the helm…over 50#s. What made it the most fun was they caught it right out in front of the Cape, not 2 miles from the dive boat and marina entry.  They are planning a summer trip to dive and fish with the family to hook another fighting fish.  This wahoo put up a fight and felt like 100#s because the line had gotten twisted around the tail and was certain to not get away. Janie shared her catch with the whole staff of the Cape.  It was great on the BBQ after marinating with a little local bird pepper and sour. Take a look at Janie’s First Wahoo

78lb Wahoo Caught at the Bridge

Big African Pompano

Big African Pompano

Well as the new charter boat for Cape Eleuthera we havebeen fishing the last few weeks, and all I can say is awesome fishing.  Lots of Wahoo, Mahi, a few Yellow fin Tuna trolling.  The bottom fishing has been very good for yellowtails and grouper and the deep dropping for yelloweye and blackfin snapper has been great.  We even spent an afternoon dropping live abit to the bottom right out front and filled the boat.  Big Amber jack, huge African Pompano, Horse Eye Jack, Mackerel, and Yellowtails.  Check out the Pictures and come fishing.
