For those of you who love meditation, Whiteland Beach has beautiful mangrove gardens, which are very private with a calm atmosphere. It seems that the more difficult a beach is to find, the more spectacular it is. And Whiteland beach is spectacular. Theres an interesting back-water system just to the left of the blue window you are seeing in the picture to the right.If the access road is still blocked, just walk over the dirt mound and straight onto the beach. Whiteland Beach is about 4 miles south of Rock Sound. It seems that the more difficult a beach is to find, the more spectacular it is. And Whiteland beach is spectacular...... and the 3 miles of natural access road can be handled easily by any car. We dont mind driving this short distance slowly, for the reward more than justifies a bit of patience as you will see in a second. The beach area is reef protected and has an even, sandy bottom. With an expanse of beach as you get it here, you could spend a lot of time swimming.
Whiteland Beach - Beach Index : Sand - Powder Soft, Pink in color, located on Atlantic Facilities - Excellent Friendly Northside Restaurant at top of the Dune 334-2573. Shade - Few Casuarina Trees nearby. Sports - Excellent Snorkeling and spearfishing. Must walk down 20 Steps. Notes - Best when the winds are less than 15 MPH from the East. Good parking. Economy Car ok.
